the vader on a slab thing doesn't do it for me.
other than that, it looks pretty good.
cgi still doesn't look real though.

Looks okay - but then EPII looked good from the trailer too but the film was actually shite.
After those previous two 'films', I'd be surprised if this is any better, unfortunately.
'Vader on a slab' - Lucas seems to be going for a bit of a Frankenstein homage there...

I thought EPII was alright... altho the guy who plays anakin is an unbelievably bad actor.

the little kid that played him in EpI was an awful actor! so it was just a natural trend that the guy in EPII had to be bad!

One film theory is that sometimes it is much more effective NOT to show something and let the audience imagine what happened.
I reckon that epIII will be evidence of this theory being true. Actually showing Vader being 'born' may be the biggest disapointment in film history.

In response to people's criticisms about Hayden Christensen's acting abilities, are you so sure it's him and not just poor scripting/dialogue/direction by Lucas?
Christensen got some pretty good reviews for his performance in 'Shattered Glass'

It's definitely Lucas (ie script, and direction). I was fairly surprised when Shattered Glass came out and people said that Christensen gave a very good performance.
But then... You can see the same phenomena with all the performances in the SW films - look at Natalie Portman - a very good actress (anyone seen Beautiful Girls - she's brilliant!) but she's absolutely terrible in the Star Wars films, same goes for McGregor etc etc etc.
As I've said before (sorry to repeat myself but it really baffles me) it's clear to see that Lucas is now ONLY interested in SFX. He has no interest in story, script, acting performances, drama, or cinematic art whatsoever.
With EpII - the OPENING SCENE when the ship blows up and some idiot falls to the ground from the blast and gets up shaking his head and groaning - the film was laughable from there - and that was only about 20 seconds in!

I guess it's hard to give a good performance with a terrible script in front of you. No matter how talented you are.
